Career Progression Program

Developped by:

The Guardians Society

The Career Progression Program is a way to encourage youth to reach for their true potential. A collaboration of workshops, presentations, workplace tours and mentor-ship programs will all play a role in expressing the 3 steps we believe youth should focus on when aiming for success and happiness.

Picture
1. Decide who you want to be.

2. Decide what lifestyle you'd like to lead.

3. Find a career path and job that will compliment both.

This is primarily a goal setting workshop meant to inspire young people to dream up a future and balance those dreams with realistic expectations. By teaching them to put aside today's pressure of immediately choosing a career path, we believe it is more beneficial to the individuals, that they first focus on themselves and the things in life that make them happy.

A fulfilling career path usually comes after one knows them self, and what they want out of life. Encouraging youth to follow their dreams will ultimately lead to a more positive future for themselves and the others around them.

Program Outline :

  • Resume Building & Interview Practising
  • The Dream Machine Workshop - Self Evaluation and Goal Setting
  • Workplace Tours- An assortment of workplaces to inspire potential career options.
  • Mentor-ship Program - Encouragement & Guidance on finding jobs, setting goals & following through on them.

"CONNECTING THE DOTS"
An Interactive Awareness Presentation

 Developed by:

The  Guardians Society

Connecting The Dots... is an awareness presentation developed by The Guardians Society as part of their overall objectives to create a more positive future for youth. It will focus on what organized crime exists in our own communities and the ill effects it has on our own society. By targeting youth for this presentation, the objective is to present the facts to them at a young enough age, so that when they do come across these groups or activities they will already be fully aware of the dangers and negative effects that surround them, and give them a fighting chance to fully avoid any participation.

A large part of the content will have to do with narcotic use, and unlike many other similar presentations that dwell on the negative effects drugs can have on the users, this focuses more on the purchase and sales of narcotics and how they can blindly be financing other, more horrific ventures that criminal organizations partake in, such as the import/export of firearms and human trafficking.

The level of censorship is still to be determined, but how other youth programs have successfully utilized the"shock factor" into getting through to youth, we hope to be able to leave a lasting impression that will eventually deter the use of narcotics and participation in other criminal activities.

The presentation will incorporate the use of modern technology for an interactive, visually stimulating atmosphere to maximize the audiences attention. It will also have trained presenters, that have enough knowledge on the content that  they will be able to answer the majority of the questions the audience may have, with an educated background on the subjects to eliminate the possibility of giving false information.

The Guardians Society has developed this presentation with the intent of sending a message. The message behind the content is to allow youth to make the right choices after having all the facts. Facts that have been neglected to older generations. The same generations that treat drug use and gang activity as if it were for leisure, and without any knowledge on how harmful these activities are on the entire future of our world.
