PROJECT: REBUILD SHREE BHUMI PRIMARY SCHOOL - NEPAL
Hello Everyone! The Guardians Society is very happy to announce that we will be fundraising for a brand new project this summer! As the beautiful country of Nepal went through one of the worst natural disasters it has ever seen, and the initial disaster relief efforts and funds have come to an end. Unfortunately, it will still take this country decades to rebuild its infrastructure.
We Have teamed up with the Community of Satyadevi to help rebuild Shree Devi Primary School, which was reduced to rubble during the April and May Earthquakes. There are currently 90 Primary School students within the small Satyadevi Community who no longer have a safe environment to learn in .
David Di Tommaso, Project Coordinator (bottom left), Matt Richard, Executive DIrector (bottom center) and Filipe Neto, Project Coordinator (bottom right), have all visited Nepal recently and have teamed up on this project to do what they know needs to be done. Members of The Guardians Society will be traveling back to Nepal (out of their own pocket) this fall as the construction start date for this project is set for the end of September. They will be delivering every dollar raised themselves, and volunteering to help with the beginning of this amazing project. Any donation is much appreciated and is guaranteed to go a long way in a country that will never forget our help.

LITTLE FLOWER'S MONTESSORI SCHOOL PROJECT
Sponsored in part by:
The Guardians Society
The Guardians Society
Little Flower is a charitable organization founded by Fr. AMA Samy, and focuses on the wellness of the underprivileged people within the village of Perumalmalai and surrounding settlements in the Palani hills of Tamil Nadu, southern India. The priority among his projects is currently the Montessori Pre-School. In 2007, the school was founded and two years later, a brand new, state of the art facility was finished, able to accommodate all of the local children and even places for volunteers to stay and help in a safe, clean, and positively inspiring work environment.
Using the Maria Montessori method of education, each student is encouraged to develop their own potentials in a creative way and to work independently at their own pace. This project is fully funded by donations, mainly coming from foreigners visiting AMA Samy’s Zen Meditation Centre, Bodhi Zendo. The money raised goes towards giving children nutritious meals daily, multivitamins, uniforms, shoes, medical care, teaching aids, the salaries for about a dozen staff members and qualified teachers, and a long list of other provisions that all go directly to aiding these under privileged village children.

The objectives of the school all aim to teach the children at a young age, a variety of skills and thinking patterns that are designed to change our world for the better. Focusing on becoming spiritual, emotional, social, and physical are four of the principles they encourage on a daily basis. Their curriculum is broken down into practical life skills, sensorial skills, arithmetic skills, and language skills (teaching both Tamil and English). An impressive and dynamic daily schedule has been created so none of these skills are ignored.
This pre-school follows similar main objectives that The Guardians Society have, and we would like to contribute to securing the financial future of this institution by fundraising for its functional costs. We have been on the ground in Perumalmalai to physically see the success of this project and it is truly remarkable. |
